Dad spent 20 years in the Navy. After retirement he went on to work in the aerospace industry. This allowed him much travel and experiences. After retiring from that industry, he went on to the RV business where he worked for several years until he enjoyed full retirement and the advantages of owning an RV himself. He and Mom took several trips.
Dad loved race cars. In the good old days, I will have to ask mom when exactly it was, but Dad and Uncle Bill would race at the track. Bill was the driver, and Dad was the mechanic. He loved to make cars that fast but not drive them that way. In the 80's Dad went on to race with his best friend Jerry Hogan. Again, Jerry as driver and Dad as mechanic. Dad and Jerry were also the ones who brought air shows into the mainsstream in Tucson, AZ where they founded and ran the Rincon Optimist Desert Air Show.
Robert aka Bob, or Daddy to us, was married to Joyce for almost 50 years. They had three girls together. Debbie, who has two kids Kami and Nathan, Denise, who has three kids, Aaron, Justin and Shelby, and Diane who has six children, Carly, Chris, Jeff, Heaven, Talon and Thomas. They have a grand total of 11 grandkids by blood, many more by Dad's attractive personality. They have 5 Great Grand kids.
Dad was such an inspiration to all who knew him. He is still loved even in his absence, and will never be forgotten.
